A landmark Conference on Women and Buddhism was held from March 30 to April 2, 2000, in Cologne, Germany. The conference, organized by Frauen im Aufbruch under the "matronage" of Sakyadhita International, attracted over 1200 participants and highlighted a wide spectrum international speakers.
