This paper addresses the power of positive perceptions of differences and diversity within the contexts of multicultural communities. It advocates how openness in the light of good human values (e.g., compassion and wisdom) can transform differences into strengths. Taking Singapore as a case, the paper elicits good practices of Buddhists and particularly highlights their contributions in the areas of community-based support. In the concluding remarks, the paper outlines principles of multicultural communities in the twenty-first century and challenges every person’s readiness to undertake new roles and responsibilities in transforming differences into strengths.
